  • The Jnanpith Award, considered the highest literary award<\/strong> in India, <\/strong>is awarded<\/strong> annually <\/strong>to authors for their outstanding contribution towards literature.<\/strong>  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Instituted in 1961<\/strong>, the award is bestowed only on Indian writers <\/strong>writing in Indian languages included in the Eighth Schedule to the Constitution of India and English<\/strong>, with no posthumous conferral.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
