  • The Atal Innovation Mission (AIM) was launched in 2016<\/strong> by NITI Aayog<\/strong> to create and promote a culture of innovation and entrepreneurship across the country.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • AIM\u2019s interventions cover schools, colleges, universities, research institutions, private and MSME sector.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • Major programmes under AIM include:\u00a0\u00a0\n

      • Atal Tinkering Labs (ATLs)<\/strong> in schools: Through these, AIM is fostering the spirit of creativity and innovation at the school level;\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Atal Incubation Centres (AICs):<\/strong> These centres create a world-class ecosystem for start-ups to flourish;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Atal Community Innovation Centres (ACICs):<\/strong> ACICs encourage the spirit of innovation with a focus on underserved\/unserved regions of the country;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Atal New India Challenges (ANIC):<\/strong> It aims to identify, fund, and mentor technology-based innovations that address critical sectoral and societal challenges;\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Mentor India:\u00a0 <\/strong>It is a voluntary initiative that invites industry leaders to guide and mentor students in the fields of technical expertise, innovation and design, inspiration or entrepreneurial in nature.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Atal Innovation Mission 2.0<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        • In 2024, the Union Cabinet approved the continuation of AIM till March 31, 2028.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
        • AIM 2.0 is designed to strengthen India\u2019s innovation and entrepreneurship ecosystem in three ways<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\n
            \n
          1. by increasing input<\/strong> (i.e., ushering more innovators and entrepreneurs),\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          2. by improving the success rate or \u2018throughput\u2019 <\/strong>(i.e., helping more startups succeed) and\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
