has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>About<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Securities Appellate Tribunal (SAT) is a <strong>statutory body<\/strong> established under the<strong> Securities and Exchange Board of India Act, 1992 <\/strong>to <strong>hear and dispose of appeals<\/strong> against orders passed by <strong>SEBI<\/strong> or by an <strong>adjudicating officer under the Act.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAT also hears and disposes of appeals against orders passed by the <strong>Pension Fund Regulatory and Development Authority (PFRDA)<\/strong> and the<strong> Insurance Regulatory Development Authority of India (IRDAI).<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Tribunal will have the <strong>same powers as vested in a civil court <\/strong>while trying a suit.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>SAT has only one bench which sits at <strong>Mumbai.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"412\" height=\"99\" has-black-color\">Composition:<\/mark><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>SAT consists one<strong> Presiding Officer<\/strong> and such number of<strong> Judicial and Technical Members<\/strong> as the<strong> Central Government<\/strong> may determine.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The person so appointed as the <strong>Presiding Officer<\/strong> should meet with the <strong>following requirements<\/strong>:\u00a0\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The retired or sitting <strong>Judge of the Supreme Court;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The retired or sitting <strong>Chief Justice of a High Court;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The retired or sitting <strong>Judge of High Court<\/strong>, who has completed <strong>at least seven years of service<\/strong> as a Judge in a High Court.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The<strong> tenure<\/strong> for Presiding Officer and Members will be <strong>five years<\/strong> from the date of appointment or re-appointment.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-black-color\"><strong>Appeal:<\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Every person aggrieved by any order or decision of Securities Appellate Tribunal can file an <strong>appeal to the supreme
