  • PM Vishwakarma is a Central Sector Scheme<\/strong> launched by the Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises <\/strong>to provide holistic and end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Launched in 2023<\/strong>, the scheme provides support through access to collateral free credit, skill training, modern tools, incentive for digital transactions and market linkage support.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The prime focus of PM Vishwakarma is at improving the quality<\/strong> as well as the reach of products and services<\/strong> of artisans and craftspeople and to ensure that they are integrated with the domestic and global value chains.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The scheme is being jointly implemented<\/strong> by the Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises<\/strong>, the Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship<\/strong>, and the Department of Financial Services <\/strong>under the Ministry of Finance<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The scheme will provide support to artisans and craftspeople of rural and urban areas<\/strong> across India.<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Eighteen traditional crafts<\/strong> will be covered under PM Vishwakarma.\u00a0\u00a0\n
      \n
    • These include (i) Carpenter; (ii) Boat Maker; (iii) Armourer; (iv) Blacksmith ; (v) Hammer and Tool Kit Maker; (vi) Locksmith; (vii) Goldsmith; (viii) Potter; (ix) Sculptor, Stone breaker; (x) Cobbler (Shoesmith\/ Footwear artisan); (xi) Mason (Rajmistri); (xii) Basket\/Mat\/Broom Maker\/Coir Weaver; (xiii) Doll & Toy Maker (Traditional); (xiv) Barber; (xv) Garland maker; (xvi) Washerman; (xvii) Tailor; and (xviii) Fishing Net Maker.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Eligibility conditions to be a beneficiary<\/strong> under the Scheme:\u00a0\n
        \n
      • The beneficiary should be working with bare hands and tools;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Involved in the unorganized sector or self-employment basis;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Minimum age<\/strong> should be 18 years<\/strong> on the date of registration;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • No loans<\/strong> should have been availed under a similar credit-based scheme <\/strong>of the Central\/State government for self-employment\/business development in the past 5 years;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The benefit of the scheme shall be restricted to one member of the family only;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
