About<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

  • The Ministry of Labour and Employment<\/strong> launched e-Shram portal (eshram.gov.in) in 2021<\/strong> for creation of a comprehensive National Database of Unorganised Workers (NDUW)<\/strong> seeded with Aadhaar.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • It is meant to register and support the unorganised workers <\/strong>by providing them a Universal Account Number (UAN)<\/strong>.\u00a0\n
      \n
    • The UAN number will be a permanent number<\/strong> i.e. once provided, it will remain unchanged for the worker.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • It will also have details of name, occupation, address, occupation type, educational qualification, skill types etc<\/strong>. for optimum realization of their employability<\/strong> and extend the benefits of the social security schemes<\/strong> to them.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      Who can register in eShram Portal?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n
        \n
      • Any individual satisfying following condition can register on the portal:\u00a0\n
          \n
        • An unorganised worker.<\/strong>\u00a0\n
            \n
          • Any worker who is a home-based worker, self-employed worker or a wage worker<\/strong> working in the unorganised sector<\/strong> and not a member of the<\/strong> Employees’ Provident Fund Organization (EPFO) or Employees’ State Insurance Corporation (ESIC)<\/strong>, is called an unorganised worker.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • Age<\/strong> should be between 16-59 years.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
          • There are no income criteria<\/strong> for registering on e-Shram. However, the worker should not be an income tax payee.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
