class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>India<\/strong> has emerged as the<strong> world&#8217;s leading ship recycling nation in 2025, ranking first globally<\/strong>.\u00a0\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>India&#8217;s share of global ship recycling increased to 35.4% in 2025 from 30.1% in 2024.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With this achievement, the<strong> target set under Maritime India Vision (MIV) 2030 <\/strong>to become <strong>the world&#8217;s leading ship recycling nation<\/strong> has been achieved well ahead of schedule.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Government of India enacted the <strong>Recycling of Ships Act, 2019, <\/strong>to develop a <strong>ship recycling ecosystem<\/strong> aligned with the <strong>Hong Kong International Convention for the Safe and Environmentally Sound Recycling of Ships (HKC),<\/strong> which <strong>India ratified in 2019.<\/strong>\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Hong Kong International Convention is a <strong>globally binding framework<\/strong> of the <strong>International Maritime Organization (IMO)<\/strong> to ensure that ships, when recycled after reaching the end of their operational life, do not pose unnecessary risks to human health, safety or the environment.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Adopted in Hong Kong, China, in 2009, the Convention entered into force in <strong>2025.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>India Becomes World\u2019s Top Ship Recycling Nation in
