These work together, much like how our brain cells (neurons) and white matter work.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group border-list\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Global Production:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Currently, countries like<strong> Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, China and the US <\/strong>dominate the semiconductor industry.\u00a0\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Taiwan<\/strong> <strong>produces more than 60% of the world\u2019s semiconductors<\/strong>, including <strong>nearly 90% of the most advanced ones.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Such dependence on a single region has <strong>exposed global supply chains to significant risks<\/strong>\u2014from pandemics and natural disasters to geopolitical tensions.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group border-list\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Design Linked Incentive Scheme:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Design Linked Incentive (DLI) Scheme is implemented under the<strong> Semicon India Programme<\/strong> to catalyze a <strong>strong, self-reliant chip design ecosystem <\/strong>by providing <strong>financial incentives<\/strong> and <strong>access to advanced design infrastructure<\/strong> for domestic startups and MSMEs.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The DLI Scheme<strong> supports semiconductor design across the full lifecycle<\/strong>\u2014from design and development to deployment\u2014covering Integrated Circuits (ICs), chipsets, Systems-on-Chip (SoCs), systems and IP cores.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The <strong>Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), <\/strong>a premier R&amp;D organization of MeitY, is the<strong> nodal agency<\/strong> responsible for implementing the DLI Scheme.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Why in News?<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Union Cabinet has approved <strong>Semicon 2.0<\/strong>, a comprehensive programme aimed at <strong>strengthening India\u2019s semiconductor design and manufacturing ecosystem <\/strong>and <strong>providing long-term policy support <\/strong>to the sector.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Semicon 2.0 has been designed around <strong>six key pillars<\/strong> covering <strong>chip design, manufacturing equipment and materials, fabrication facilities, semiconductor packaging, research and development, <\/strong>and<strong> talent development.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Semicon 2.0 About Semicon India Program What is a semiconductor?
