  • Pradhan Mantri Matru Vandana Yojana (PMMVY) is a maternity benefit scheme <\/strong>under the Ministry of Women and Child development<\/strong> launched in 2017.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The PMMVY Scheme is being implemented as per provisions under the National Food Security Act (NFSA), 2013<\/strong> which provides for financial support for pregnant and lactating mothers<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Under PMMVY, maternal benefit of \u20b95,000\/<\/strong>– is provided to eligible Pregnant Women & lactating Mothers in two instalments<\/strong> (first instalment of \u20b93000\/- after Ante-Natal Check-up and second instalment of \u20b92000\/- after the childbirth and 14 weeks of universal immunization).\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Beneficiaries also receive cash incentive under Janani Suraksha Yojana (JSY) <\/strong>after institutional delivery so that on an average, a woman gets \u20b96,000\/-.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • JSY is a safe motherhood intervention<\/strong> and conditional cash transfer scheme for promoting institutional delivery.<\/strong><\/mark>\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Launched in 2015 with the objective of reducing maternal and neonatal mortality,<\/strong><\/mark> JSY promotes institutional delivery among pregnant women especially with weak socio-economic status.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n

      • Under PMMVY, financial support is provided to the mother for safe delivery and immunization of her first child.<\/strong>\u00a0\n
