  • Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) is a program to improve the overall quality of life of children<\/strong> and provide<\/strong> comprehensive care to all the children <\/strong>in the community.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • It was launched in 2013 <\/strong>by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    • This program involves screening of children from birth to 18 years of age for four Ds –<\/strong> Defects at birth, Diseases, Deficiencies and Development delays, <\/strong>spanning 32 common health conditions for early detection<\/strong> and free treatment and management<\/strong>, including surgeries at tertiary level.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Children diagnosed with identified health conditions are provided early intervention services <\/strong>and follow-up care<\/strong> at the district level.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

      • The Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has released the Rashtriya Bal Swasthya Karyakram (RBSK) 2.0 Guidelines<\/strong> expanding its scope to address emerging child health priorities.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The updated framework reinforces and broadens the established 4Ds approach<\/strong> \u2013 Defects at Birth, Diseases, Deficiencies and Developmental Delays<\/strong>, while incorporating new-age health challenges<\/strong> including non-communicable diseases, mental health conditions, and behavioural concerns.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Revised guidelines introduce a comprehensive preventive, promotive and curative continuum of care,<\/strong> strengthening the programme\u2019s existing lifecycle-based approach covering children from birth to 18 years<\/strong>, with increased focus on digitalization.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
