class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>About<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Mission Mausam is a<strong> central sector scheme<\/strong>, launched in<strong> 2024<\/strong>, to <strong>boost India&#8217;s weather and climate-related science, research and services.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Mission, to be chiefly implemented by the <strong>Ministry of Earth Sciences<\/strong>, envisages making the country <strong>\u201cWeather Ready and Climate Smart\u201d<\/strong> with the aim that <strong>no weather will go undetected and early warning for all.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The mission&#8217;s focus includes <strong>improving the observations<\/strong> by<strong> augmenting various observational networks<\/strong> throughout the country, <strong>capacity building, <\/strong>and <strong>awareness generation.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group border-list\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>BharatFS:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Under the Mission Mausam, the <strong>Bharat Forecast System (BharatFS), <\/strong>an advanced computer simulation model, has been launched by the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">India Meteorological Department (IMD).<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>BharatFS <\/strong>is the <strong>world&#8217;s highest-resolution operational weather model, operating on a 6-kilometre grid.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Developed indigenously <\/strong>by the<strong> Indian Institute of Tropical Meteorology (IITM), Pune<\/strong>, BharatFS<strong> enhances India\u2019s weather prediction resolution from 12 km to 6 km,<\/strong> enabling every village in India to access<strong> more precise and location-specific forecasts.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It makes it the <strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-luminous-vivid-orange-color\">world\u2019s first model at such a high resolution for localised forecasts.<\/mark><\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>With this 6 km resolution, the <strong>model can capture localized weather phenomena<\/strong> such as thunderstorms, heavy rain spells, lightning, hailstorms and intense heatwaves which often vary sharply even
