{"id":1165,"date":"2026-06-01T05:24:19","date_gmt":"2026-06-01T05:24:19","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/materials.simplycurrentaffairs.com\/?p=1165"},"modified":"2026-06-02T05:24:25","modified_gmt":"2026-06-02T05:24:25","slug":"pm-setu","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/materials.simplycurrentaffairs.com\/index.php\/2026\/06\/01\/pm-setu\/","title":{"rendered":"PM-SETU"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-green-cyan-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>PM-SETU<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong>About<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>PM-SETU (Pradhan Mantri Skilling and Employability Transformation through Upgraded ITIs)\u00a0<\/strong>is a<strong>\u00a0centrally sponsored scheme<\/strong>\u00a0launched in 2025 to<strong>\u00a0strengthen India\u2019s vocational training ecosystem.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group border-list\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Industrial Training Institutes:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h4>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list listborder\">\n<li>Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) have been the\u00a0<strong>backbone of vocational education and training in India<\/strong>\u00a0since the 1950s,\u00a0<strong>operating\u00a0under State Governments.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>These institutes provide\u00a0<strong>industrial and technical\u00a0training\u00a0post completion of a secondary level of education<\/strong>\u00a0in science.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The scheme envisages the\u00a0<strong>upgradation of 1,000 Government ITIs across the country\u00a0<\/strong>in a\u00a0<strong>hub-and-spoke model\u00a0<\/strong>comprising\u00a0200 hub ITIs and 800 spoke ITIs.\u00a0\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Each hub will be connected to four spokes on average.
