  • The Ayushman Bharat Digital Mission (ABDM), launched in\u00a02021<\/strong>, is an initiative of the Government of India aimed at building an\u00a0open interoperable digital health ecosystem\u00a0<\/strong>for the country.\u00a0<\/mark><\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • With ABDM, citizens can securely store and access their medical records <\/strong>(e.g., prescriptions, diagnostic reports, discharge summaries) and share them with healthcare providers<\/strong> after their consent<\/strong>, ensuring continuity of care.  <\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Citizens will also have access to accurate and verified information<\/strong> about health facilities and service providers<\/strong>. Through these initiatives, ABDM aims to make healthcare more accessible.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

    Components of ABDM<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

    • The core components of ABDM\u2019s technological architecture include four registries<\/strong> for providing a trustable identity across healthcare stakeholders in the ecosystem:\n
        \n
      • Ayushman Bharat Health Account (ABHA)<\/strong>: A 14 digit unique identifier <\/strong>for individuals to store and share medical records. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Healthcare Professionals Registry (HPR):<\/strong> A comprehensive database of registered healthcare professionals. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Health Facility Registry (HFR): <\/strong>A digital repository of healthcare facilities across India. <\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Drug Registry: <\/strong>A registry of all the drugs across various systems of medicines that are sold in the Indian market. <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Participation in ABDM is voluntary <\/strong>including for citizens. Participation of a healthcare facility or an institution is also voluntary <\/strong>and shall be taken by the respective management (government or private management). <\/mark> <\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n

        Implementing Agency<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n

        • The National Health Authority (NHA) <\/strong>has been given the mandate by the government to design, build, roll-out and implement the ABDM in the country.  \n

          • NHA is an attached office of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare <\/strong>with full functional autonomy.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n
