  • PM Vishwakarma is a\u00a0Central Sector Scheme<\/strong>\u00a0launched by the\u00a0Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises\u00a0<\/strong>to provide\u00a0holistic and end-to-end support to artisans and craftspeople.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Launched in\u00a02023<\/strong>, the scheme provides support through\u00a0access to collateral free credit, skill training, modern tools, incentive for digital\u00a0transactions\u00a0and market linkage support.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The prime focus of PM Vishwakarma is at\u00a0improving the quality<\/strong>\u00a0as well as the\u00a0reach of products and services<\/strong>\u00a0of artisans and craftspeople and to ensure that they are\u00a0integrated with the domestic and global value chains.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The scheme is being\u00a0jointly implemented<\/strong>\u00a0by the\u00a0Ministry of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises<\/strong>, the\u00a0Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship<\/strong>, and the\u00a0Department of Financial Services\u00a0<\/strong>under the\u00a0Ministry of Finance<\/strong>.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • The scheme will provide support to artisans and craftspeople of\u00a0rural and urban areas<\/strong>\u00a0across India.\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
  • Eighteen traditional crafts<\/strong>\u00a0will be covered under PM Vishwakarma.\u00a0\u00a0\n
      \n
    • These include (i) Carpenter; (ii) Boat Maker; (iii)\u00a0Armourer; (iv) Blacksmith ; (v) Hammer and Tool Kit Maker; (vi) Locksmith; (vii) Goldsmith; (viii) Potter; (ix) Sculptor, Stone breaker; (x) Cobbler (Shoesmith\/ Footwear artisan); (xi) Mason (Rajmistri); (xii) Basket\/Mat\/Broom Maker\/Coir Weaver; (xiii) Doll & Toy Maker (Traditional); (xiv) Barber; (xv) Garland maker; (xvi) Washerman; (xvii) Tailor; and (xviii) Fishing Net Maker.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n
    • Eligibility conditions to be a beneficiary<\/strong>\u00a0under the Scheme:\n
        \n
      • The beneficiary should be working with\u00a0bare hands and tools;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Involved in the\u00a0unorganized sector or self-employment basis;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • Minimum age<\/strong>\u00a0should be\u00a018 years<\/strong>\u00a0on the date of registration;\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • No loans<\/strong>\u00a0should have been availed under a\u00a0similar credit-based scheme\u00a0<\/strong>of the Central\/State government for self-employment\/business development in the\u00a0past 5 years;<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
      • The benefit of the scheme shall be restricted to\u00a0one member of the family only;\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n
