class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>About<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Government of India launched the Tele-Law program in\u00a0<strong>2017\u00a0<\/strong>to\u00a0<strong>strengthen the pre-litigation mechanism<\/strong>\u00a0in the country.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>It aims to\u00a0<strong>connect the needy and marginalized persons<\/strong>, in need of legal advice and consultation with\u00a0<strong>Panel Lawyers<\/strong>\u00a0via\u00a0<strong>video conferencing\/telephone facilities,\u00a0<\/strong>available at<strong>\u00a0Common Service\u00a0Centres\u00a0(CSCs)<\/strong>\u00a0located\u00a0at Gram Panchayat level or via\u00a0<strong>Tele-Law Mobile App.<\/strong>\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Village Level Entrepreneurs (VLEs)<\/strong>\u00a0who run the CSCs\u00a0facilitate\u00a0online registration of beneficiaries with Panel Lawyers.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Para Legal Volunteers (PLVs)<\/strong>\u00a0have been stationed to act as intermediaries, bridging the gap between common people and the Tele-Law service,\u00a0and also\u00a0to create public awareness about Tele-Law.\u00a0PLVs are\u00a0<strong>not\u00a0lawyers, but\u00a0have\u00a0basic\u00a0understanding of the legal process.\u00a0<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The\u00a0Tele-Law\u00a0service is\u00a0<strong>free of\u00a0cost\u00a0to all citizens.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"198\" height=\"189\" src=\"https:\/\/materials.simplycurrentaffairs.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/image-4.png\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-1024\"\/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group border-list\"><div Service\u00a0Centres:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list listborder\">\n<li>CSCs are shops\/kiosks that<strong>\u00a0deliver various government services\u00a0online\u00a0<\/strong>like public utility services, social welfare schemes, healthcare, financial, education and agriculture services to citizens in<strong>\u00a0rural and remote areas\u00a0<\/strong>of the country.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>CSC is one of the mission mode projects under the<strong>\u00a0Digital India\u00a0Programme\u00a0<\/strong>run by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY).\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under the\u00a0<strong>CSC 2.0 scheme<\/strong>\u00a0initiated\u00a0by\u00a0MeitY\u00a0in 2015,<strong>\u00a0at least one CSC is to be rolled out in\u00a0each and every\u00a02.5 lakh Gram Panchayats across the country.<\/strong>\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The project is implemented by\u00a0<strong>CSC e-Governance Services India Limited,<\/strong>\u00a0a Special Purpose Vehicle.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Jurisdiction<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Legal matters in which advice can be taken through Tele-Law service are:\u00a0\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Dowry, family dispute, divorce, protection\u00a0from domestic violence.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Sexual harassment, sexual abuse, eve teasing at the workplace.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maintenance of women,\u00a0children\u00a0and senior citizens.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Rights\u00a0regarding\u00a0property and land.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Equal wages for males and females.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Maternity benefits and prevention of\u00a0foeticide.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Prohibition of child marriage, protection of children from sexual assault, prevention of child\u00a0labour\u00a0and implementing right to education.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Arrest \u2013 (F.I.R)\/ process of registering the First Information Report.\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Atrocities against scheduled castes\/ scheduled tribes and their rehabilitation.\u00a0<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><mark style=\"background-color:rgba(0, 0, 0, 0)\" class=\"has-inline-color has-vivid-red-color\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Tele-Law 2.0<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/mark><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>In 2023, the Ministry of Law &amp; Justice launched the\u00a0<strong>Tele-Law 2.0 initiative<\/strong>\u00a0which\u00a0<strong>integrates the legal advice service<\/strong>\u00a0under tele-law with\u00a0<strong>legal representation services under the Nyaya Bandhu\u00a0programme.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<div class=\"wp-block-group border-list\"><div class=\"wp-block-group__inner-container is-layout-constrained wp-block-group-is-layout-constrained\">\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong><strong>Nyaya Bandhu:<\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list listborder\">\n<li>The Nyaya Bandhu (Pro Bono Legal Services) is the Government of India\u2019s initiative to\u00a0establish\u00a0a framework for\u00a0<strong>dispensation of pro bono<\/strong>\u00a0(free of charge)\u00a0<strong>legal services across the country.<\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Under the\u00a0programme, practicing advocates, interested in undertaking legal pro bono work, are connected, via mobile technology, with eligible\u00a0marginalised\u00a0beneficiaries, after due scrutiny for delivery of pro bono legal services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/div><\/div>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Several cases in which tele-law\u00a0centres\u00a0help people get pre-litigation advice end up in courts.
