About
- Atal Bhujal Yojana (Atal Jal) is a Central Sector Scheme which focuses on promoting community-led sustainable groundwater management in water-stressed areas of 7 States, namely Gujarat, Haryana, Karnataka, Madhya Pradesh, Maharashtra, Rajasthan, and Uttar Pradesh.
- Launched in 2019, the scheme aims at community led sustainable ground water management through convergence of activities.

- The scheme, partly funded by the World Bank, is being implemented by the Ministry of Jal Shakti.
