CPGRAMS

About

  • Centralised Public Grievance Redress and Monitoring System (CPGRAMS) is an online platform available to the citizens 24×7 to lodge their grievances to the public authorities on any subject related to service delivery.
  • Launched in 2007, it is a single portal connected to all the Ministries/Departments of Government of India and States.
  • The system was developed by the National Informatics Centre, under the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY) in collaboration with the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG), Ministry of Personnel, Public Grievances and Pensions.
  • It has been developed with an objective of speedy redress and effective monitoring of grievances by Ministries/Departments/Organizations of Government of India.
  • The time limit for redress of grievance is 21 days. In case of delay an interim reply with reasons for delay is required to be given.
  • CPGRAMS also provides an appeal facility to the citizens if they are not satisfied with the resolution by the Grievance Officer.

Why in News?

  • The Union Government has launched the AI-enabled CPGRAMS Voice Chatbot, SAMADHAN DIDI.
  • Developed by the Department of Administrative Reforms and Public Grievances (DARPG) in collaboration with Bhashini, the chatbot enables citizens to register public grievances through an interactive conversational interface.
  • BHASHINI (BHASHa INterface for India) is an initiative aimed at democratizing access to digital content and services across India’s linguistic spectrum.
  • Launched in 2022, its goal is to provide technology translation services in 22 scheduled Indian languages and increase the amount of content available in Indian languages.
  • BHASHINI uses cutting-edge artificial intelligence (AI) and natural language processing (NLP) technologies to enable users to access content and services in their preferred language.
  • BHASHINI is implemented by the Digital India Corporation, a not for profit company set up by the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology.
  • SAMADHAN DIDI currently supports all 22 scheduled Indian languages, and efforts are underway to incorporate additional regional and local languages.
