Digi Yatra
About
- Launched by the Ministry of Civil Aviation in 2022, Digi Yatra is a biometric-enabled digital processing system that allows air travellers to pass through various checkpoints at airports using facial recognition instead of physical IDs or boarding passes.
- Currently available at major airports like Delhi, Chennai, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, and Mumbai (with more to come), it’s a part of India’s vision to create smart airports.
- Biometric data is only used for verification during boarding and is deleted within 24 hours of departure.
